A Musical Interlude

The way car companies use emotional lyrics obviously intended to express sentiments not remotely related to driving to inspire people to buy their product kind of disgusts me. I remember when one such company, I forget which one, used The Beatles hit 'Revolution' in a commercial, in an appalling attempt to compare the kind of revolution The Beatles were calling for with aesthetic advances in motorvehicle design. Like metallic paint can change the world - ack!

I'll refrain from ranting further. Because I love that song from the Saab commercial. It would influence me nought on the subject of purchasing a Saab (if I had the money for such indulgences), but it did compel me to do an internet search for the name of it. I found it of all places on a random Norwegian blog. I love the places the net takes you.

I hope the band got some royalties out of it at least. It's really a great song if you feel like having a listen.

  1. It's a beautiful song. Never heard it before. Nor, I confess, do I remember seeing the SAAB ad.
